Choices, Choices

I haven’t blogged in a while (sorry). I felt that this topic was probably worth getting back into blogging for.

I am continually told, in my everyday life that the choice that I have/will/am about to make is “the most important” or “the most crucial” that I shall ever make. Common Entrance or Scholarship. Which School? GCSE choices? Double Science? Triple Science? and now … A Levels.

When first I approached this, I  just thought “hell, I’ll just choose my favourite subjects, this is easy” – My Favourite teachers primarily but other factors. But this can be passing. I had a Chemistry teacher last year who did not really fit my “learning style”. So had I picked my choices last year, chemistry would not have been one.  But now it seems that the subject has become a high possibility. So such choices are trivial.

The next way to choose was to complete the stupid tests. A booklet that asks me if “I want to work with children” and a computer quiz that asks if I’d rather be a farmer or an estate agent might be the answer. It wasn’t. It either told me what I already knew or gave me an answer so unlikely that it could be dismissed immediately.

The answer, well probably just a mixture of instinct and university. It will probably be Maths, Further, Physics and Geography. And another, clearly. Computing, Chemistry, Theology, something like that. Suggestions welcome!
